Synopsis

Successful New York stockbroker Jimmy King, a confirmed bachelor, goes against the warnings of his friend Warren and marries wiley Russian refugee Nadia, who poses as a princess. Soon, Jimmy is supporting Nadia's family, which includes Olga, an ambitious interpretive dancer, Paul, an ambitious violinist, Boris, a loafer, and Mauna, a gold digger. Nadia's father, General Kourajine, dreams only of a revolution taking place in Russia that would counteract the Bolshevik Revolution. In order to rid himself of his in-laws, Jimmy tries to exploit their Russian idiosyncrasies to make them all famous, and eventually, they all find other sources of income besides Jimmy. Jimmy also rids himself of a nervous former suitor of Nadia and finally establishes himself as head of the household with a tirade on marriage and home wreckers, leaving he and Nadia more compatible than ever.
