Biography

Greta Meyer was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Meyer started her acting career landing roles in such films as the Warren William biographical drama "The Match King" (1932), "Flesh" (1932) and the dramatic comedy "Servant's Entrance" (1934) with Janet Gaynor. She also appeared in "The Line-Up" (1934), the Joan Crawford dramatic adaptation "Forsaking All Others" (1934) and the dramatic adaptation "Biography of a Bachelor Girl" (1934) with Ann Harding. She continued to work steadily in film throughout the thirties, appearing in "Naughty Marietta" (1935), "Smart Girl" (1935) and the Jean Harlow comedy "Libeled Lady" (1936). Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in "Bill Cracks Down" (1937), "Damaged Goods" (1937) and "Torchy Gets Her Man" (1938). She also appeared in the biopic "The Great Waltz" (1938) with Luise Rainer and the Don Ameche drama "Four Sons" (1940). Meyer more recently acted in "Friendly Enemies" (1942). Meyer passed away in October 1965 at the age of 82.
