Ralph Burns worked on a variety of projects during his entertainment career. Burns worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Cabaret" (1972) starring Liza Minnelli. In the eighties, Burns devoted his time to various credits, such as "History of the World Part I" with Mel Brooks (1981). Burns's music was also featured in the musical comedy "Bert Rigby, You're a Fool" (1989) with Robert Lindsay, the Dom DeLuise animated adventure "All Dogs Go to Heaven" (1989) and the Kevin Spacey crime feature "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (1997). Burns was most recently credited in the crime drama "Gangster Squad" (2013) with Josh Brolin. Burns won a Music (Scoring: Adaptation and Original Song Score) Academy Award for "Cabaret" in 1972 as well as a Music (Original Song Score and Its Adaptation or Adaptation Score) Academy Award for "All That Jazz" in 1979. Burns was nominated for an Outstanding Achievement In Music Direction Primetime Emmy Award for "The Josephine Baker Story" in 1991. Burns passed away in November 2001 at the age of 79.
