Synopsis

Bob Allen, Jim Wright's ranch hand, is falling in love with Wright's daughter Ann. Bob's competition is a neighboring rancher named Van, who has his eye on the ranch as well as Ann. Van has been rustling Wright's horses by sending a stallion into the herd and leading the mares out. When Van's stallion gets in a fight with a wild horse, both Van and Chuckler, one of Wright's men, claim to have roped it first. A riding contest is held to break the horse, and Bob wins it for the Wright ranch, then names him Pal. Angry at having lost, Van picks a fight with Bob, and Jim orders Van off his ranch, accusing him of rustling. Bob reveals to Chuckler that he is actually a ranger and that he is going after Van and his gang, who are planning to rustle a cattle drive coming into town the next day. In a violent chase, the horses and cattle stampede through town. Bob lassos Van, turns him over to the sheriff and returns to court Ann.
