Synopsis

After a man falsely tells another man, who has been pestering him with a business proposition, that he is not interested because he has just inherited a million dollars, the pest spreads the story, and the amount inherited becomes inflated to triple the original figure. After the supposed wealthy man's aunt learns about the inheritance, her physician warns him not to dispel the rumors, as the disappointment may kill her. The interference of the man's pal, who tries to act as a buffer to protect him from people wanting to take advantage of his supposed fortune, only serves to further the confusing developments. Two woman announce that they are engaged to the supposedly wealthy man, and when his sweetheart catches him embracing one of the women, she refuses to speak to him again. Following a hair-pulling fight involving the three women, the man is reconciled with the one he truly loves.
