Synopsis

In order to relieve her father of his gambling debts, Sally Jo agrees to perform at the rough-and-tumble dance hall of a California gold rush town, where her fiery temper soon earns her the nickname "Flare-Up" Sal. The Red Rider, a local bandit, hears of Sal and longs to meet her, but because he faces arrest if he enters the settlement, he decides to visit the saloon in the guise of the new town minister. Sal and the bandit fall in love, which arouses the jealousy of Dandy Dave Hammond, the owner of the dance hall. When Dave and the Red Rider fight, the saloon is set on fire, forcing Sal and her outlaw to escape through an upper window. The Red Rider leaves the minister a large sum of money for a new church, after which he and Sal ride out of town, determined to lead decent lives.
