Synopsis

When Betty Norton and her younger brother Jimmy run away from white slaver Nifty Mendez, who has framed their father, Jimmy breaks his leg when he is hit by Rodney Channing's car. The wealthy Rodney insists that Jimmy remain with him while recuperating, and during this time, Rodney and Betty fall in love and plan their marriage. Mendez hears of this and demands money from Betty. If she refuses, he says, he will tell Rodney that her father is in jail. Betty agrees, writes Rodney a letter all about her father and then runs away again. Later, an old enemy kills Mendez, and Rodney is able to locate Betty. Since he does not care that her father is a convict, he and Betty once again plan their marriage.
