Synopsis

Tommy Dawes, a ranch hand at Bill Nyall's ranch, is devoted to the owner's little crippled daughter, Rosemary, and when he breaks her favorite doll he borrows a $20 goldpiece from the foreman's mattress and starts for town in the rain. He is set upon and robbed by an escaped convict, Knapp Wyant, and encountering him later in a deserted shack he struggles with and shoots Wyant. Tommy is mistaken for the convict by Sheriff Bundy, but he escapes and with help of the sheriff's daughter, Harriet, buys a new doll. After returning the money, he receives a reward for helping the sheriff and is finally accepted by his sweetheart, Harriet.
