Synopsis

A family feud, dating back to the 17th century when the Laniers buried alive Vanessa Whitlock as a witch and confiscated the Whitlock estate, is revived when Bill Lanier's construction company bulldozes through the Whitlock cemetery. Morgan Whitlock protests the desecration, and when Myles Forrester, Bill's partner, is mysteriously murdered, Morgan is held for questioning. Amy, Morgan's niece who is engaged to marry Bill's brother Todd, stays with the Laniers until her uncle's release. Although Bill orders a halt to the bulldozing, Vanessa has already been disturbed from her grave and begins to haunt the Laniers, causing members of their family to have fatal or near-fatal accidents. While Bill and Todd are away, Tracy, Bill's wife, follows Amy into the family crypt where she discovers Morgan leading his family in supernatural rituals. The witches drug Tracy and tie her to the altar, but Bill and Todd return and learn Tracy's whereabouts from one of Vanessa's victims who survived. They rescue Tracy while the witches are away, but Todd returns to the crypt for Amy, who has recently been initiated into Satanism. He in turn is captured, and when Vanessa threatens him, Amy pours burning oil on her. In the resulting fire, Morgan and all the witches, including Amy, are killed. Todd escapes and watches the estate go up in flames, bringing to an end the 300-year-old curse.
