Synopsis

Eric the postman is slipping through his own Manchester postal worker Eric Bishop is at the end of his rope. His two layabout stepsons show him no respect, his second marriage is in ruins, a car accident lands him in the hospital - and that is just the start of his troubles. The lovelorn Eric meanwhile pines after the wife he left thirty years earlier, but lacks the confidence to reconnect. Only the friendship of his mates at the post office and his love of the Manchester United soccer team keep him above water. In desperate times it takes a spliff and a special friend to help a lost postman find his way, so Eric turns to his idol, French-born soccer genius and philosopher, Eric Cantona. With the enigmatic advice on life and love from Cantona to spur him on, Eric sets to get his life back on track.
