Meanwhile Mollie and Jimmie are picked up at a train station but are released when they insist they are elopers. Jimmie confesses to Mollie that he robbed the Costello safe and also saw the murderer; still pretending to be married, they go with Officer Mahoney to his boardinghouse. Mahoney is cornered by Harry and his gang, who plan to force him to resign before killing him; but his life is spared by the arrival of the police, who were tipped off by Blair, a newspaperman. Although Mahoney suspects Jimmie, he gets him a job, and Jimmie plans to return the money and go straight; but Harry, Mollie's former sweetheart, threatens Jimmie and is exposed as the murderer. Harry is killed in a confrontation with Mahoney, and after hearing Jimmie's confession, Mahoney sends them off to be married. ...
