Synopsis

Robert Moore, general manager for wealthy John Gibson, is frequently visited by his employer, who is fond of Robert's children. A scandal is invented relating Gibson and Moore's wife, and hearing of it at a club, Robert attempts to thrash the instigator of the gossip and hurries to tell Gibson, who, he discovers, has been killed. Although he protests his innocence, Robert is tried and convicted of murder. His wife remarries but finds herself tied to a brute who causes constant dissension. Twenty years later, the real murderer confesses and Moore is set free, but he is reluctant to leave prison. He is persuaded to visit his former wife and defends her against an attack by her husband, whom he shoots in self-defense. Robert is vindicated and reunited with his family.
