Synopsis

Tommy O'Brien appears in public wearing his brother's police uniform to impress his sweetheart, Muriel, and he unwittingly admits "Slippery Dick" Sylvaine, a notorious crook, into a house. Tommy's brother is blamed when his policeman's badge is found in the burglarized house, but Tommy explains everything at the police station. Despondent because he no longer has a place to live and because Muriel has left him, Tommy decides to commit suicide. He hires "Butch" Barker to kill him for $10; then later, when his brother relents and Muriel returns, he tries to escape being killed. Seeking shelter in a streetcar barn, Tommy captures Sylvaine and is forgiven by everyone. Barker returns the $10, saying he recently has got religion.
