Synopsis

Two look-alikes--Joe, a poolroom-owner, and Sonny, son of a wealthy, blind mother--go to war at the same time. They meet and become buddies. Sonny is wounded, and, before dying, he makes Joe promise to take his place in order to spare his mother grief. Joe carries on the deception, even though he falls in love with Sonny's sister. He is finally exposed in a dream through which the mother realizes her son is dead, but nevertheless he is warmly accepted by her.
