Synopsis

"This is one of Tom Mix's typical acrobatic romances. It has the usual spectacular feats, and the story of a hero who wins the girl because he excels in daring and accomplishing." ( Moving Picture World, 24 Feb 1923.) "Pep" Hawkins, enthralled by stories of knighthood, travels around in a suit of steel armor and rescues Nan Harvess, a similarly romantic daughter of a rancher, by stopping her runaway horses. Nan falls in love with Pep but is already promised to her father's foreman. Her uncle, however, consents to hold a tournament consisting of a chariot race and other acrobatic stunts. To the victor would be given Nan's hand in marriage. Pep wins the tournament in spite of Nan's uncle's attempts to thwart him, and after rescuing Nan when she is kidnaped Pep carries his bride away heroically.
