Synopsis

Mona, daughter of the Gypsy chieftain Tser, is coveted by Pietro the Bold, who resents taking orders from Tser. He organizes a poaching expedition to the estate of Doerlou Castle, and the Earl of Eddington is fired at during their early morning excursion; Pietro returns to camp with the body of Tser, and Mona swears vengeance upon her father's slayer. She is injured on Eddington's grounds and remains there during her convalescence. Posing as a servant, Eddington falls in love with her; later, incensed by Pietro, she confronts Eddington with his deception and performs the tribal "Dance of Death"; but love conquers her hate. Pietro orders Eddington seized, but Pippa, a mute boy, informs her that it was Pietro who killed Tser; the Gypsies pursue Pietro, and he is slain by Mona, who thereafter is united with Eddington.
