Synopsis

At Billy Taylor's raucous party, the young man treats his wealthy uncle, whom he does not recognize, so coldly that the old man disinherits him. Instead, the fortune is left to Sally Taylor, a working girl who is so awed by the prospect of entering high society that she abandons her sweetheart, Sam Joplin, and orders her sister Babe to marry an aristocrat. In the meantime, however, Babe falls in love with Billy, who has accepted a job as Sam's assistant. When Babe is attacked by the titled fortune hunter whom Sally has chosen for her, Sally finally realizes that money cannot buy happiness. Weary of society life, she returns to Sam, while Babe and Billy make plans to marry.
