Synopsis

Shirley, a manicurist, is in love with Tiger, a famous prizefighter, though Steve, his manager, creates mistrust between the two. Shirley discovers that her brother, Lester, has lost a large bet to gangster leader Chuck and that he will be killed unless he pays off. She appeals to Tiger; he offers him the money, but Shirley refuses to accept it. At Chuck's nightclub, he is told that Lester has killed Whitey, Chuck's bodyguard, and Chuck, in league with Steve, informs Shirley that he will not frame Lester if she will visit Tiger's dressing room before the fight and offer him some drugged water; when she fails to do so, Steve delivers the potion to the ringside. During the fight, Chuck and his gang are pursued by the police, and he is fatally shot. To her joy, Shirley finds that Tiger has won the fight and that pure water was substituted accidentally by Spot, the waterboy.
