Synopsis

James Cameron's film, "Titanic," introduced a whole new generation to this tragedy. While a central character in the film, Jack Dawson, was fictional, Cameron may have been more accurate in creating the character than he realized. In a quiet cemetery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, there are many of the graves of those who died on the Titanic. Among the graves is one J. Dawson, whose story the program attempts to uncover. Dawson worked for the White Star line as a coal trimmer in the engine room of the Titanic. Originally, Dawson came from Dublin and it seems that he, like his fictional counterpart, had a scandalous love life. The program travels to Liverpool, where Dawson's descendants now live, and pieces together the life of this previously anonymous man.
