Synopsis

In 1971, the cast of "Sesame Street" appeared with the Boston Pops and the late Arthur Fiedler on a special episode of "Evening at Pops." Almost 30 years later, the musical Muppets help Keith Lockhart and the Pops play a selection of tunes from the "Sesame Street" book of favorites. Also on the bill, a sneak preview of a Sesame Workshop video performance featuring music from Sergei Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf," starring furry red monster Elmo. Other special guests include Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Rosita, Hoots the Owl and their human friends Maria, Alan, Bob and Gordon. Diane Schuur sings a rendition of "From Your Head" and saxophonist James Moody performs "Put Down the Ducky."
