Synopsis

Stanley Caldwell, the screenwriting mastermind behind the murders of Lake Summit, returns for revenge. Fifty miles away from the origin of the murders on Lake Shaw, Mike Helton, a former friend of Stanley's, is directing the revised script. Allison Gaddis, an aficionado of Caldwell's works, is the scribe who refurbishes his creation. Presumed dead two years before, Stanley slips unsuspectingly into the role of J.C. Bender, the second unit director. As J.C., Stanley slowly but steadily redevelops his story to his liking, destroying all obstacles in his path as he goes along. He bonds with the new writer, Allison, and eventually kills Mike to further implement his plan. Stanley then frames Paul Parsons, a brother of one of Caldwell's victims. As action begins rolling in the movie, crew disappearances surface, a cast member has a brush with death, and more lives become at stake. Stanley's last movie shot goes awry, culminating in a face off between Allison and him.
