With over 290 million people visiting America's National Parks every year, the role of park rangers is multifaceted. Rangers focus on a diverse set of objectives, from education and conservation to law enforcement and public safety. However, things are changing in America's parks and so are the job descriptions of rangers. As more and more visitors enter the parks for illegal reasons, rangers are forced to focus on law enforcement. Today's park rangers often find themselves dealing with drug smuggling, poaching, DWI, assault, rape, robbery and even murder.
