A look at the 1983 hoax in which a documents dealer and a veteran investigative reporter from "Stern" magazine "unearthed" 60 volumes of Adolph Hitler's secret diaries, at a cost of $3.8 million. Touted as the find of the century, the diaries were authenticated by British Hitler expert H.R. Trevor-Roper, who, among others, was embarrassed upon learning that the paper had polyester fiber in it -- a product developed after World War II.
