Synopsis
Documentary follows the clues to the origins of the controversial Shroud of Turin, the alleged burial cloth of Jesus, with the help of international scholars who attempt to authenticate the shroud. The shroud, which has been carbon-dated only to the Middle Ages, bears the faded image of what appears to be a bearded man covered with blood stains that correspond to the wounds of crucifixion. Kept in the northern Italian city of Turin for more than 400 years, the shroud has a history that some call a hoax and others trace to the sixth century.
