Synopsis

Television movie about a death-row inmate who asks the parents of the girl he murdered to raise his daughter after his execution. Jack and Connie Murphy have been waiting for the execution of the murderer of their daughter, Jenny, who was killed six years earlier. Jenny's killer, John Burke, is anticipating final word on whether he will live or die. Full of rage, Connie presides over an activist group called "Parents For Justice." As anti-death penalty groups picket, Connie and her group rally for Burke's execution, but Jack has a change of heart. Unbeknownst to Connie, Jack pays Burke a visit in jail in order to hear the truth about his daughter's last hours. There, he finds they have a common bound. Burke's 13-year-old daughter, Lisa, lives with her grandmother, who is dying of heart failure. Her mother is dead and, in days, Burke will be executed. Burke's last wish is to know that his daughter is in good hands.
