An entry in NBC's periodic "Classics Illustrated" series, this presentation was framed by hosts Gary Coleman and Steve Allen, whose appearances were eliminated subsequently. It was to be the only "Classics Illustrated" movie to receive an Emmy Award nomination -- as Outstanding Children's Program.
