Although she's lent her voice to hundreds of English-language anime television shows and video games Laura Bailey's road to voice acting was rather unlikely. Plainly put, it wasn't a career she set her sights on. In fact, it almost happened by accident. According to Bailey she was attending college in Dallas when a friend, who was already doing voice acting for the anime series "Dragon Ball Z," asked her to audition for the show. Bailey was already studying stage acting at Collin County Community in Texas, so she decided to give voice acting a try. Soon after auditioning, Bailey was cast as various different voices on the series, thus launching her voice acting career. From there Bailey's voice was heard on some of the most acclaimed anime series to come out of Japan, including "Detective Conan," "Blue Gender," and of course, "Dragon Ball Z." But although voice acting is primarily where she makes her living, she's also acted in live action movies and TV. In 2001 Bailey guest starred on the action series, "Walker, Texas Ranger," and has since appeared in the 2003 independent film, "Graduation Day." She also had a small role as a Flight Attendant in the 2007 crime drama, "Mr. Brooks." The 2000s also saw Bailey doing voiceover work for video games, including "Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles" and "Final Fantasy XIII," both from 2009.
