Bill Catching was an accomplished actor who appeared in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. He had an early role on the television special "The Loner" (CBS, 1958-59). He additionally landed roles in the TV movies "Ordeal" (ABC, 1973-74) and "The Hanged Man" (ABC, 1973). He also landed roles in movies like "North By Northwest" (1959) and "Heaven With a Gun" (1969). He also starred in the TV movies "Fer-De-Lance" (1974-75), "Sky Hei$t" (NBC, 1974-75) and "Mayday at 40,000 Feet!" (CBS, 1976-77). He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "The Young Pioneers" (ABC, 1977-78). He also had roles in film during these years, including roles in "Avalanche" (1978) with Rock Hudson. Catching continued to exercise his talent in the seventies and the eighties, taking on a mix of projects like "Mean Dog Blues" (1978), "The Runner Stumbles" with Dick Van Dyke (1979) and "Motel Hell" with Rory Calhoun (1980).
