Biography

Actress Belinda Montgomery has appeared in countless popular television series throughout the years, from the late 1960s through the early 21st century. Montgomery made her professional acting debut on the short-lived television series "Barney Boomer" in 1967. Appearing in a variety of television shows and movies throughout the 1970s, Montgomery received her first substantial television role on the sci-fi program "Man from Atlantis." Playing the role of Dr. Elizabeth Merrill, Montgomery appeared in 17 episodes of the short-lived series, from 1977 through 1978. The 1980s would see Montgomery land a few extended roles on television shows, including "The Love Boat," "Simon & Simon," "Aaron's Way," and "Miami Vice." But the close of the decade would bring Montgomery the role that she is best known for, Katherine Howser (the mother of Doogie Howser), on the popular series "Doogie Howser, M.D." Montgomery would go on to appear in 97 episodes of the show, from 1989 through 1993. Most recently, Montgomery played Grandma Flynn on the 2010 blockbuster "TRON: Legacy."
