It's hard to believe a wife as lovely as Julie (Virna Lisi) could ever be ignored, but in this campy farce, Col. Tom Ferris (Tony Curtis) makes just that mistake. He gets so wrapped up in his work and doesn't notice that his wife's old beau Tank Martin (George C. Scott) is back in town. That's problematic, because Julie only married Tom because he told her Tank was dead -- and Tank hasn't forgotten about that, either. Desperate men do wacky things for the love of a good woman, including steal planes and dress up as Arab royalty. With a story by Norman Panama and Melvin Frank (a comedic partnership famous for also having a hand in Bob Hope/Bing Crosby Road pictures), this broad comedy is most interesting as an early film score from John Williams, who, in addition to the stirring string instrumentals that foretell his promise as an iconic composer, also wrote (with legendary lyricist Johnny "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive" Mercer) several pop ditties, including the irresistibly swingy title song.
