Sing, Sister, Sing (1935) throws Thelma Todd and Patsy Kelly together as roommates. Playing against type, Thelma turns out to be the more annoying bunkmate, sending Patsy into paroxysms of frustration. Thelma chides, "Never let trifles upset you," and tells Patsy to just sing a little song if she feels herself getting angry, hence the title. Director Parrott uses a variety of household items as sources of friction -- a steam radiator, a Murphy bed -- but the capper is when Thelma reveals herself to be a sleepwalker and takes a moonlight stroll on the ledge of their high-rise.
