Dubbed "The Queen of Technicolor" because of her striking red hair and green eyes, the beautiful, Irish-born O'Hara is perhaps best known for starring in such films as The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939), How Green Was My Valley (1941), Miracle on 34th Street (1947) and The Quiet Man (1952). Born in 1920, she came to Hollywood in 1939 after appearing in Alfred Hitchcock's Jamaica Inn (she was cast by its producer and star, Charles Laughton). Her career would include over 60 screen credits, and she made her final appearance in the television movie The Last Dance in 2000. In 2014, she received an honorary Oscar® during the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science's annual Governors Awards ceremony.
