In this remake of Mack Sennett's earlier shortHelen's Marriage, which he directed for Biograph back in 1912, a clever young man connives to marry his sweetheart in front of her disapproving father by making the old man believe the wedding is just playacting being staged for a movie. The young man in this version is Charles Parrot, an exceptionally talented comedian who soon left Sennett's employ to strike out on his own and later rechristened himself "Charley Chase."
