Marriage - Italian Style

Still in flashback recalling their 20-year relationship, Domenico (Marcello Mastroianni) leads his mistress Filumena (Sophia Loren) to believe he’s installing her in the apartment of her dreams, signing the lease, his contrivance revealed later, in Vittorio De Sica’s Marriage Italian Style, 1964.

In his flashback from the purported death-bed of Filumena (Sophia Loren), Domenico (Marcello Mastroianni) recalls their first meeting, during the evacuation of a Naples brothel during WWII, then their second two years later, in Vittorio De Sica’s Marriage Italian Style, 1964.

Director Vittorio De Sica’s opening, bedlam in Naples as locally famous Donna Filumena (Sophia Loren) is ill, so Alfre (Aldo Puglisi) is sent to fetch Domenico (Marcello Mastroianni), who’s getting ready to marry much younger Diana (Marilu Tolo), in Marriage Italian Style, 1964.
