The Artist

Now in 1929, we resume with our hero, matinee idol Valentin (Jean Dujardin) buckling a swash or two, checking in with mogul Zimmer (John Goodman) watching Doris (also Mrs. Valentin, Penelope Ann Miller) in a talkie, then director Michel Hazanavicius introduces sound, in The Artist, 2011.

She’s made a splash cavorting with the dashing title character (Jean Dujardin, not seen) after a premiere, so we join Peppy (Berenice Bejo) the next day visiting the studio, meeting “The Butler” (Malcolm McDowell) before an audition, in the 2011 Best Picture Academy Award-winner, The Artist.
