Exodus

From the arrival of the first Jewish refugee kids from Cyprus, we meet Zionist leader Barak Ben Canaan (Lee J. Cobb, father of the hero, Paul Newman), at his kibbutz in Palestine, also John Derek as friendly Arab neighbor Taha, in Otto Preminger’s film from Leon Uris’ novel, Exodus, 1960.

From director Otto Preminger’s opening, American nurse Kitty (Eva Marie Saint) learns from Sutherland (Ralph Richardson), the British commander on Cyprus, about the death of her journalist husband, and meets Caldwell (Peter Lawford), who has views about Jewish refugees, in Exodus, 1960.

Bigoted Brit Caldwell (Peter Lawford), escorting American volunteer Kitty (Eva Marie Saint), falls completely for the scam being run by Jewish activist Ari (Paul Newman), posing as an officer himself, to smuggle refugees from Cyprus to Palestine, in Exodus, 1960, from the Leon Uris novel.

Secreted to Cyprus the night before, Palestinian Jewish activist Ari Ben Canan (Paul Newman) joins comrades (Paul Stevens, Michael Wager) at the offices of friendly shipping agent Mandria (Hugh Griffith), making plans before the 1947 United Nations vote on Israel, in Exodus, 1960.
