Dean Koontz wrote the pilot on spec before shopping it around with Tony Krantz. This is the first project he's adapted that's not based on his own work.

2-hr pilot

If project is ordered to series, this will be Martin Scorsese's first scripted television series.

Project originally picked up as a limited series with a 2 hour pilot plus 4 episodes. Project is scheduled to air as a single 2 hour backdoor pilot with no additional episodes shot prior to its airdate.

Backdoor pilot began shooting June 1, 2004 and completed shooting June 27, 2004.

Initial Commitment: 2-hr pilot + 4 episodes

Though Flame TV was based at Warner Bros., the producers shopped the project to other studios before ending up at Lions Gate Television.
