Brief Synopsis

In 1944, future baseball great Jackie Robinson is serving as a lieutenant in the U.S. army at Fort Hood, in Texas. When Robinson is asked to sit in the back of an unsegregated army bus, and refuses, his superiors request that Robinson be court-martialed. With help from fellow athletic legend and military man Joe Louis, as well as his sympathetic mother, Robinson takes a giant step toward overcoming the institutionalized racism of the era.
