Synopsis
Downtown New York City. Lyle Maze is a sensitive and charming sculptor who has Tourette Syndrome. Isolated by his own fear, and other people's misconceptions, he is convinced he'll never find true love. In fact, Lyle feels comfortable only when he's with his best friend Mike or Mike's girlfriend Callie. When Mike, a globe-trotting emergency relief doctor, accepts another assignment in Africa, Callie gives him an ultimatum: She'll end their 4-year relationship if he leaves again. Unaware that Callie is pregnant with his child, Mike decides to leave, so she resolves to raise the baby on her own. Callie turns to Lyle for support and their friendship evolves into romance. When Mike returns home 7 months later, he discovers that he has a baby and that his girlfriend and best friend are in love. Callie must choose between the two men in her life, which is complicated by the existence of her newborn son. Ultimately, all three must resolve complex issues of love, loyalty, friendship and responsibility.
