His first appearance in his Academy Award-winning role, in the first feature in what would become a hit series for 20th Century-Fox, Clifton Webb as Lynn Belvedere, introducing himself as the baby-sitter to housewife Tacey (Maureen O'Hara) and friend Edna (Louise Albritton), who had assumed he was a girl, in Sitting Pretty, 1948.
