Koyaanisqatsi

Apart from some agriculture, the first representation since the opening of human activity, with industry including mining and power generation, and aerials of the Glen Canyon dam which forms Lake Powell, on the Utah-Arizona border, and more of the Philip Glass score, from Koyaanisqatsi, 1982.

Opening with cave drawings from Horseshoe Canyon, Utah, (said to have been suggested by Francis Ford Coppola, who helped finance and distribute the picture) and Philip Glass’ music, then a Saturn V launch, and aerials from “The Needles,” at Canyonlands, from director Godfrey Reggio’s Koyaanisqatsi, 1982.
