The Great Lover

International opera star Paurel (Adolphe Menjou, title character) is determined to convince American protege Diana (Irene Dunne) that he isn’t romantically interested in her, though we know better, as they engage in a personal training session, in The Great Lover, 1931.

Arriving New York on the ship from a European tour, world class lothario and opera singer Paurel (Adolphe Menjou) and his man (Ernest Torrence) fail to identify the voice of Diana (Irene Dunne), meeting press agent Finny (Cliff Edwards) and reporter Rosco (Ates), in The Great Lover, 1931.

Opera star Paurel (Adolphe Menjou) returned to New York, encounters his understudy Carlo (Neil Hamilton) then helps the boss Stapleton (Hale Hamilton) trick his moody ex-lover Savarova (Olga Baclanova) into appearing with him in the next production, in The Great Lover, 1931.
