Face of Fire

An opening reference to the underlying Stephen Crane stories, as we meet James Whitmore as “Monk,” Miko Oscard as Jimmie, son of his employers, and the parents, Cameron Mitchell and Bettye Ackerman, in Face Of Fire, 1959, filmed in Sweden, released by Allied Artists.

A fire alarm raised in an American small town ca. 1906, handyman Monk (James Whitmore) trying to rescue the kid he calls “Pollywog” (Miko Oscard), son of his employers, the father, doctor-scientist Trescott (Cameron Mitchell) restrained outside, in Face Of Fire, 1959.
