Honky Tonk

After a prologue introducing them as old west con men, Sniper (Chill Wills) and Candy (Clark Gable) are about to be tarred and feathered, the leading man, trick shots aside, showing some proficiency with cards, opening MGM's Honky Tonk, 1941, also starring Lana Turner.

Elizabeth (Lana Turner) back in Nevada from college back east, met by her father Judge Cotton (Frank Morgan), pursued by con men Candy (Clark Gable) and Sniper (Chill Wills) who introduced themselves on the train, early in Honky Tonk, 1941.

Back-east college grad Elizabeth (Lana Turner), back home in 1880s' Nevada, visits with her landlady (Marjorie Main), who's just received money to build a church mission from Candy Johnson (Clark Gable), the suddenly flush rake who came in on the train with her, in MGM's Honky Tonk, 1941.

Con man Clark Gable and a crooked judge try to take over a town but trouble starts when Gable marries the judge's daughter, Lana Turner in Honky Tonk (1941).
