Ship to Honolulu brings family friends and new lovers Paul (James Darren) and Sloan (Yvette Mimieux) home from school, his native Hawaiian mom (Aline MacMahon) and her prospective-senator brother Richard (Charlton Heston), with sister-in-law (Elizabeth Allan), greeting, in Diamond Head, 1963.

We discover that sexy native Hawaiian Mei (France Nuyen) is the mistress of widower local titan Howland (Charlton Heston), who has pretty much embraced his inner bigot, in the face of his sister's proposed marriage to her native beau, in Diamond Head, 1963.

Director Guy Green is biting off huge chunks of Hawaii scenery through the opening, leading man Charlton Heston, we learn, is land-owner Howland, Laura (Elizabeth Allan) his sister-in-law, greeted by political operatives (Vaughn Taylor, Edward Mallory) in from Honolulu, in Diamond Head, 1963.
