Song Without End

Like most of the film probably directed by George Cukor (who replaced the late Charles Vidor), Lizst (Dirk Bogarde) in his Paris comeback meets Princess Carolyne (Capucine) and her husband Prince Nicholas (Ivan Desny), in the Columbia bio-pic Song Without End, 1960.

Fanciful scene wherein Franz Liszt (Dirk Bogarde), with his annoyed mistress Countess Marie (Genevieve Page), at his hide-away near Chamonix receives friends George Sand (Patricia Morison), Chopin (Alex Davion) and manager Potin (Lou Jacobi) all at once, early in Song Without End, 1960.

Finally performing at court in St. Petersburg ostensibly for Czar Alexander II (Hans Unterkirchner), Liszt (Dirk Bogarde) is really there to see Princess Carolyne (Capucine), who intervenes after he insults the monarch, in Song Without End, 1960.
