The Court Jester

Danny Kaye as Hawkins (posing as "Giacomo") challenged to a duel, in the famous routine with Jean (Glynis Johns) and Griselda (Mildred Natwick) plotting his escape, in The Court Jester, 1956, from Norman Panama and Melvin Frank.

Both unaware that he's been hypnotized to behave like a romancing swashbuckler, palace infiltrator Hawkins (Danny Kaye) swoops in on the welcoming princess Gwendolyn (Angela Lansbury), who unknowingly breaks the spell, in The Court Jester, 1956.

Hawkins (Danny Kaye), posing as Italian Giacomo, arrives at the castle, missing the signal from Fergus (Noel Drayton), and mistaken as a cohort by Ravenhurst (Basil Rathbone) and Locklsey (Michael Pate), then bantering with the king (Cecil Parker), in The Court Jester, 1956.
