The morning after the soldier’s sendoff party, where Trudy (Betty Hutton) drank spiked lemonade and got bonked on the head, she picks up Norval (Eddie Bracken) who provided her alibi and loaned her his car, way later than they should be, concocting a story for her father, in writer-director Preston Sturges’ The Miracle Of Morgan’s Creek, 1944.
