Zombies on Broadway

Goon Joseph (Joseph Vitale) brings a vial to the jungle lab of his boss, Dr. Renault (Bela Lugosi, his first scene), who explains his science problem, then awakens Kalaga (Darby Jones, same guy from I Walked With A Zombie), in the comic knock-off Zombies On Broadway, 1945.

We first meet Sheldon Leonard as gangster turned impresario Ace, then the stars, his press agents, Wally Brown and tubbier Alan Carney as Jerry and Mike, the RKO riposte to Abbott And Costello, in Gangsters On Broadway, 1945, with Bela Lugosi and Anne Jeffreys.

Comic team Jerry Miles and (goofier) Alan Carney, as New York press agents sent to an exotic island to find a Zombie, have recruited singer Jean (Anne Jeffreys), none of them aware they’re being stalked (by Darby Jones, who works for Bela Lugosi), in Zombies On Broadway, 1945.
