The opening by director, producer and co-star Hugo Haas, the only appearance, arguably clever, by Sir Cedric Hardwicke, framing the low-budget Columbia Noir programmer Bait, 1954, also starring Cleo Moore and John Agar.

John Agar as Brighton and producer-director Hugo Haas as Marko are tentative partners setting out to re-locate the latter’s gold mine, visiting supplier Foley (Emmett Lynn) and his employee Peggy (Cleo Moore) who, as events transpire, will become the topic of the title, in Bait, 1954.
